I was on a bus this morning when i was awaken from my sleep by a loud shout.
I dismissed it the first time as i thought i was dreaming.
But when the 2nd shout comes, i was already shocked awake.
It was the bus uncle shouting at a bangala to get off the bus.
He was frantically searching for his ezlink to tap.
After several minutes, he is unwilling to alight and even went back to his seat to look for his ezlink.
The pissed bus driver shouted at him for a few times, and even passengers in the bus shoo-ed him off the bus.
The bus driver later on closed the door and the bangala pleaded for him to open the door for him and alighted, without being able to find his ezlink card eventually.
Yes, i agree that the bangala is wasting everyone's time and even possibly jam up the busy road.
But i think that the fact that the bus driver shouting at him is wrong as he is in a service line. To me, i think that he is bullying the bangala as he is sure that the bangala would not be able to complain him. Had it be a singaporean, i doubt the would even dare to be rude to him.
Losing an ezlink card to us might not mean much, but to the bangala, that might mean he lost a lot of money. That explains why he is searching for the card so frantically and refuse to leave the bus without tapping as it would cause him a decent $2.
My conclusion is, if you are in a service line, you should be fair to everyone and present the best of your service, instead of bullying those of lower income/education people.
